Stompin' Grounds
In 1992 Swinghammer illustrated a children’s book of lyrics by legendary Canadian troubadour Stompin’ Tom Connors called My Stompin’ Grounds, published by Doubleday. Kurt developed a caricature of Tom for the cover which he reworked for this print. The background is hand-rendered titles of all his songs that mention a Canadian place. The print is 8”x10” which is a standard size and easy to find suitable inexpensive frames. This simple black one has outer dimensions of 10” x 12”. At this scale the piece can work alone on a very small wall, or can be companion in a grouping of pieces, or even on a shelf with objects. It doesn’t need a mat, but that is an option with a larger frame. The edition is 50, and each print is personally hand signed, numbered, dated and titled by the artist.
